I love reading about the desert and how it has so many living things within it. Last week I shared a post with you about how Diane Foulks was sharing some desert photos with you. I knew I had some photos of some Joshua Trees but I couldn’t find them until today.
Here they are a photo of some Joshua Trees that we photographed along highway 395 or somewhere on our way through Mojave Desert. I love the High Desert. When I was stationed in Twentynine Palms back in 1996 it snowed there and I know people are probably thinking, “It doesn’t snow in the desert!” but trust me it did. I actually was stationed there for a couple of years and I must say I really enjoyed the weather. It is one of the best places to go that you can wear shorts all year round.
I still remember one of the exercises we did there on the base every winter. It was so cold and we were on an M1A1 and it seemed like the steel from the tank just made it that much more colder. We also had to wear steel-toe boots which probably didn’t help much.
If you have some desert photos and want to share them with us please do so. I want to use this week to help spread the heat to those that might be in cold places around the world. I figure if we think of hot things it might warm us up some.
Thanks for reading!
Semper Fidelis,
Manuel Perez
