San Diego–Balboa Park HDR Hallway

IMG_9117_8_9

I was recently in the San Diego area when I came across this hallway that I knew would be amazing in an HDR shot.  So I fired away and got this HDR shot without using my tripod.

If you haven't been to Balboa Park in San Diego, I urge you to go.  There is just so much to see and do.  It is right next to the San Diego Zoo and actually has so many different areas due to the size of the park.

Thanks for looking.

Walt Disney World’s Dolphin Resort

Walt Disney World's Dolphin Resort

Here is a photo from inside Walt Disney World’s Dolphin Resort.  I took this photo on the early morning I checked out.  It was pretty hard to catch this lobby without anyone in it.  On some days the parks would close at 1:00AM.

Another Project

Perez FamilyI was recently at a church convention in Ontario, CA when I noticed that the Ontario Convention Center was full of Pelco’s Spectra cameras.  These are one of Pelco’s greatest creations.  If you watch in many commercials and movies you will see the name Pelco.  The Spectra is even in the latest movie The Avengers which can be seen aboard the air ship in the place where they keep Loki.

To Infinity And Beyond…

LEGO Buzz and WoodyI am a big fan of LEGO’s in case you haven't already noticed.  I love the things that can be built with them and they give children a way of building their creativeness.  This is a photo of LEGO Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Disney Pixar’s Toy Story.  This photo was taken at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, CA.

Dallas, TX

Bridge in Dallas, TX

While I was in Texas recently, I was in Dallas and noticed this beautiful bridge.  It was a little tricky to get to since there wasn’t any place to park nearby and get to a good location to photograph it.  I had to stop at a gas station and hike up a road nearby to get this shot.  The plan originally for this bridge and two future bridges is to build two more similar bridges nearby and when you look at them from an angle it will look like one bridge.

If you have more details about this bridge and anything else in Dallas, TX please feel free to share it with us.

MCRD San Diego

The Hallway at MCRD San DiegoI was recently at my brother’s graduation at MCRD San Diego last week.  I must admit that it was a great feeling to finally step foot on the MCRD base again since I graduated from it back in 1996.  Once I made it through the main gate and was free to roam around the areas I was allowed on it was nice to see how much it has changed.  I noticed so many things that I wasn’t allowed to see when I was based there in Boot Camp.  While in Boot Camp I was able to see only the barracks that I lived in, the Parade Deck and the areas that we trained in, along with an area on the other side where we worked and had Liberty for one day.

The Hallway, on your left was just one of the photos I was able to photograph while I was on the base.  Originally built in 1919 the base makes over 21,000 Marines a year and very few make it back to the Depot.  The hallway houses the offices of the Battalions that train the recruits.  These offices have lots of individuals working in them to keep track of the training of every Marine on the base.

Overall the visit to the base was truly something I have been wanting to do for a long time.  I plan on doing it again soon.  I also want to mention that I was talking to my brother’s Drill Instructor about keeping in touch with old fellow Marines and he mentioned the website, TogetherWeServed.com which allows you to create a profile that can even be linked to your facebook account and add brothers/sisters that you knew while you were in the military.  It doesn’t just refer to only Marines as it also lets you create profiles for the other armed forces of the United States.  If you haven't checked out the site yet then you need to go do it now.

Thanks for reading and if you have any comments you want to leave, please do so.

YoYo-Yo

YoYo at Six Flags Discovery Center In Vallejo

Here is a photo of the YoYo (or at least that is what I used to call it when I was a kid) at Six Flags Discovery Center in Vallejo, CA.

What is your favorite attraction at this park?  What is your favorite theme park?

I love the Butterfly Exhibit at this place.  It does get a little crowded on some days but there are some very beautiful butterflies that are just waiting for you to capture their photo.

Century Casino Hotel

Century Casino Hotel Room

I was in Century City, Colorado last week on business and I stayed in one of the rooms at the Century City Casino.  I must say the rooms were very nice.  Beds were so comfortable it felt like I could sleep forever.

Pasadena Church

Church In Pasadena, CA

Here is a photo of what seems to be a church that has seen better days.  The building appears to be cracking but it still looks beautiful.  This photo was taken in Pasadena, California.

A Dangerous Exit

Exit Sign With Icicles

While I was in Coeur d’Alene back in January we noticed a part of the building that had a small area where you could sit outside and get some air.  The area was packed with snow from the storm that had hit over the past couple of days.  I noticed this exit sign hanging from a doorway and thought if someone were to accidently come out of that door and look up…might be painful.
