1st Stinger Battery

Here is a photo of the photo off my shirt from when I was in 1st Stinger Battery in Okinawa, Japan. 

1st Stinger Battery is no longer active according to Wikipedia it was officially deactivated on September 28, 2007.  This was my last unit that I was with before separating from the Marine Corps in 2000.  It was also the unit where I was promoted to Sergeant.  I must say from my experience in Okinawa, 1st Stinger was closer to my experience in a ground unit than being over at Marine Wing Support Squadron 172. 

I plan on sharing some more of my Okinawa, Japan experience with you next week.  Starting Monday I will be sharing with you some photos and stories from my stay in Okinawa.  Stay tuned.
